The Indonesia Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX)
HISTORY | The Indonesia Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX) was launched on 31 March 2010. It began operations with a single palm oil futures contract, and has plans to add other heavily-traded Asian commodities in the near future.
MARKET POSITION | Indonesia is the world's largest producer of palm oil. Its palm oil exports total in 2008 was recorded at US$12.4 billion, and met 48.4% of global demand. In the near future, ICDX has the definite potential to become the trading hub of palm oil in the world. The exchange will introduce agricultural products, metals and energy futures products in the future.
